Dún laoghaire-rathdown is an extremely popular county in Ireland. It's part of the Dublin Metropolitan Region in the province of Leitrim. It's named after the former parish of Doon-la-Lagann and the county barony of Rathfall. Dún laoghaire-Rathdown County Council was elected by the people in 1875. The county has four seats in the Dún na nGaedheal (Irish Parliament) and two seats in the Oireachtas (Irish House of Representatives).

You'll find Dóna-Lagann on one of the west coast of the Irish Sea, between the counties of Kerry. The county's name comes from the Gaelic word "dunn" which means "lagoons". The county is bordered on one side by Kerry and on the east by Kerry's neighbor Cork.

Dublin has some of the finest historic architecture in Europe, so much so that the city has been named "The City of Churches". Dublin is also home to a great many historical buildings and museums, some of which have been designated as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. The British Library in Dublin houses a wide variety of manuscripts and books from both the Old and modern period.

There's also The Dublin Castle. It's one of the last Medieval castles in existence. The ruins date back to the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, making it one of the oldest castle complexes in all of Europe. The castle was built around a large and steep hillside. This steep, rocky area makes it difficult to navigate, which is one of the reasons why the Castle is still open to visitors today.
